Swaddled without procurement, 2024

The woven works come from a place of complete destruction with no return.

Like paper shredded, the content is destroyed and the paper can no longer return to its previous state. The action is finite. By ripping my paintings into shreds, I was destroying beyond dislocation to its termination.

Oblivious without further intentions, these paintings were dead but a source for textiles was born.

From painting to weaving, crafting these new works was slow and methodical.

Slowly reworking the piece, it grew and grew.. nurtured into a new lifeform.

These works are about tempering the emotions. Slowing everything down. Building something up. Nurturing perhaps the impossible. Accepting change.  Understanding things will never return to how they once were.

These works are about nurture, about motherhood.
Undiscovering the virtues of patience and time.
